You have just bought a new home and now, you are in the process of remodeling and imposing your own style on the house. Among other things, you want to build a swimming pool. If you are like most homeowners, you probably think you can just choose any spot in the compound and build your pool there. After all, the property belongs to you and you are not intruding on anybody’s personal space. Well, the truth is that you cannot just chose your spot. There are rules and regulations you must observe if you are to call residential custom pool contracting wilmington nc.

    Distance from Your Fence

According to the regulations in most cities, there should be a bit of distance between the perimeters of your own land and that of the people adjoining your land. These things vary from one state to another but the point is that you cannot locate your pool too close to the fence of your plot.

Distance from Your Own Plumbing System

If you have a borehole in your compound, you have to factor this in before you select a spot for your pool. Your swimming pool should not be to close to your borehole and other sources of water. The same applies if you have a septic tank on the grounds of your home or if you have a fish pond in the compound.

Talk to the Right Regulatory Agencies

You cannot start any digging unless you have invited the officials from the right agencies to approve your proposed swimming pool spot. Once you have the permission from the right regulatory body, you can start excavation.

    Choose a Great Spot

Now, you have got the permits sorted out so you can start building your pool. Again, you have to be pragmatic here. The location of your pool will depend on the size and the design of the pool. If you want a very large and well-designed pool in your compound, you should locate this pool in apart of the compound where you have enough space. This could be in the garden area or close to the front of the house.

    Safety Concerns

Apart from space and convenience, you also have to consider safety concerns. For instance, if you have young children or pets, you should be careful. You don’t want to have any unfortunate accidents while you are enjoying the pool. For this reason, your pool should be placed in an area that prioritizes safety and security.

    Aesthetics and Landscaping

Another thing you should consider is aesthetics. Your pool should be in a part of the house that makes it blend perfectly with the surroundings. This way, it looks like part of the scenery and not like an intrusion on the property. You can even contract an excellent landscape designer to create the perfect effect so that your pool and the surrounding areas will stand out and look great.

    Final Word

As you can see, it is important that you have your pool on the right spot. Again, you should not start excavating unless you have got all the permits from the right agencies.
